  1. PERRY HOLDS ON -- SECOND TERM SECURED

    • Jason Perry re-elected as Executive Mayor of Croydon, declared at 5:15pm on Friday 8 May. Final margin: 35,871 (Perry) vs 34,758 (Labour's Rowenna Davis) -- a gap of just 1,113 votes.

    • Green Party's Peter Underwood took 14,404 votes. Turnout was 40.99%. Perry's second term begins immediately.

  2. COUNCIL RESULTS: THE FULL PICTURE

    • Alongside the mayoral vote, 70 councillors were elected across Croydon's 28 wards -- with results being declared today, Saturday 9 May.

  3. FREE CULTURE FESTIVAL COMING TO CROYDON

    • Surprised! -- a free two-day Asian arts, culture and food festival -- is coming to the Whitgift Centre/North End area on 16-17 May. Sri Lankan masked dance, Flamenco-Bharatanatyam fusion, origami, henna and more. 12-6pm Saturday, 12-5pm Sunday. Free entry, family-friendly.

  4. TRINITY SCHOOL GOES CO-ED

    1. Croydon's Trinity School has received planning approval to expand and become fully co-educational by 2031. Girls will join from Year 6 and Year 7 from 2027, with pupil numbers rising from 1,050 to around 1,398. Two new three-storey blocks planned.

  • Ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May), Fairfield Halls' charity BH Live is spotlighting the link between arts and wellbeing.
