PULSE INTRO
The July sun is beating down on our beautiful borough, and the heat in the heart of Croydon is reaching a fever pitch this Thursday. We are feeling the rhythm of the streets and the warmth of the community as we bring you the latest local briefing. It is time to stay cool, stay connected, and stay informed with your favourite neighbourhood update. Welcome to Issue #73, your definitive guide to the people, places, and pulses that make our corner of South London the best place to be.
THEATRE THREAT & TRIUMPH

Our local legends at the Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation (CYTO) are facing a massive challenge and they need your support right now. This incredible charity has been the launchpad for local talent for decades, but they now face a steep £20,000 mountain to climb for essential maintenance at the Shoestring Theatre.
The council-owned building in South Norwood requires urgent repairs and maintenance costs that now fall squarely on the shoulders of the charity. To save the stage, they are launching a massive impACT fundraising festival on Friday 25 July 2026 at their home on Oakley Road.
Starting at 4:00pm, you can catch brave staff and volunteers tackling wild sponsored challenges like hot wings eating and ice bucket dunks. From 7:00pm, the magic happens on screen and stage with a showcase of short films and live performances from our brilliant local youngsters aged 6 to 19.
We need to back our stars and ensure the curtains stay open for the next generation of Croydon creatives. Every penny counts toward that £20,000 target to keep this community jewel shining bright.
Check the full schedule and book your tickets to the showcase at cyto.org.uk/impact.

STREET BEAT

🚆 Southern train services are facing a bit of a bumpy ride this week with significant overnight disruptions. Engineering work is taking place between Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction from Monday night 29 June through to Friday morning 2 July 2026.
If you are a late-night traveller, expect late-running trains to be diverted between Sutton and Balham, running non-stop and missing out those middle stations. Replacement buses will be in operation to keep you moving, but please allow extra time for your journey and check the latest updates before you head out.
Read the full travel advice on the Southern Railway website.
🧵 If you fancy something a little slower-paced, why not join the Sew and Chat group tomorrow morning? They are gathering at Farm Fields in CR2 at 10:30am on Thursday for a morning of stitching, stories, and socialising.
It is the perfect spot for a bit of "Stitch and Bitch" where you can work on your latest project while catching up with friendly faces. Whether you are a master of the needle or a complete beginner, you are more than welcome to join the circle.

Most Men Notice Aging All at Once
Men's skin is 25% thicker than women's. That sounds like an advantage. It isn't. Thicker skin delays the visible signs of aging — until collagen drops. And when it drops, it drops hard: heavier eye bags, deeper wrinkles, dark spots, loss of firmness. All at once. Most men were never taught to get ahead of it. That's where Particle Face Cream comes in. A 6-in-1 formula engineered specifically for men's skin — reduces eye bags, dark spots, and wrinkles, restores firmness, hydrates deeply, revives dull tone. Two minutes a day. No complicated routine. Over 1,000,000 men already use it. Try it risk-free with a 30-day money-back guarantee. 20% off with code BH20.
