🔧 THE HEARTBEAT: FIX IT FORWARD, LUKE WANTS YOUR OLD HOOVERS

🌍 A South Norwood teenager is on a mission to keep vacuum cleaners out of landfill. Luke, 18, has loved vacuum cleaners for as long as he can remember, and he has started a small repair project to give unwanted machines a second life. Think of it as a one-person repair café, with the vacuums as the guests of honour.

✅ What he is looking for: any make or model, from Hoovers, Dysons, Henrys and Vaxes to everything in between. Working or not does not matter. Old, tired, dusty or broken, he will take them.

🛠️ What he does with them: Luke cleans, services and repairs each machine, replaces filters, belts and parts where needed, and brings it back to life so it can keep working. Collection is free, at a time that suits you.

♻️ Why it matters: every vacuum that gets repaired is one less in the bin, and a skilled young neighbour gets to put his know-how to good use. It is exactly the kind of pay-it-forward project the Pulse loves to back.

📦 Got a vacuum gathering dust, or one you are about to replace? Before it goes to the tip, reply to this email and we will pass your message on to Luke so the two of you can sort out a collection. As with any handover at your home, it is sensible to agree the details between you.
