Wednesday is for the dreamers and the doers. Today we are continuing our Staycation Guide series, looking at the borough's most iconic green space and a council standing its ground for our future.
PULSEPOINTS:
🛡️ SACROSANCT SPACES: Croydon Council has formally announced its opposition to the draft London Plan, with Mayor Jason Perry pledging to defend the borough’s Green Belt. The council argues the plan to build on green spaces within a mile of transport links must be "grounded in local reality."
🚰 WATER ALERT: Emergency repairs continue on Primrose Lane and Bridle Road following burst mains. Local bus diversions, 367, 194, 198, remain in place.
🚊 TRAM CHECK: A final reminder that the 24 day town centre loop closure begins in just over two weeks on 6 August 2026.
